Talapus and Olallie Lakes

35mm film! it's been a while. so long, it's now much harder to even develop it! by chance, i picked the very same week local pharmacies are having their machines packed-up forever!... this will be a pain later i'm sure.

in the past two weeks or so i've hiked about 16 mile with sara, she has a goal of 100 miles this summer! and while i'm not goal oriented in this endeavor, i like tagging along for the sites, and you know, exercise. sometimes i try to do crunches and/or push-ups at home, but honestly it feels like my soul is dying. i hate it. but getting outside and walking trails for 4 hours? yes! i can do that!

maybe this hike was unusual for me, because our attraction of the day were lakes, not ruins! lake are pretty great too... this was an 89% humidity colder day with the little bit of rain that hit over the weekend. i dressed in a sundress and cotton cardi... silly, i was freezing at first! i was thinking about all the other hikes we've been up to, and how sweaty we were getting, not that kind of day on saturday!

along with two other hiking accomplices, Miss V and Jeff, we tackled Talapus and Olallie Lakes. A pretty hike, but a lot more popular that what i'm usualy up for - way too many people for my tastes.

just finished another roll of film this weekend, finally! i stared it back in the winter! no big surprises when i had it developed... just snapshots. I thought it was only a roll of 20 shots so i took the last few in my apartment to finish the roll off... turns out it had 24 photos! whoops... could have taken it on onnnnne more adventure...

we get around

maybe you've noticed by now that nearly every blog post i do documents a different city... i get around. i'm stir-crazy by the weekend and am always up for an adventure. new places, old favorite spots, the pacific northwest is a divine playground.

dane just developed another roll of 35mm mini diana film, so here it is to share. dane took all of the photos this time, so he deserves all the credit here. He's also responsible for teaching me how to use my SLR over the years, priceless hands-on lessons - though the photoshop skills are all my own. ;)

Almost Like We Live on San Juan Island

last month we payed another spontaneous visit to san juan island, this time with my family. we were hosted in the sweetest cottage house in roche harbor's village with my mother's connections. the six of us ate well for every meal, my sisters boyfriend went to culinary school as it turns out, we put him to work! we went on countless walks, found tons of bones (even a raccoon skull!), and returned "home" every night to a fire pit. it was hard leaving after spending four days on the island being spoiled by nature...

On a side note, I've had this blog for four years this month! I started it when I was in school to document my misadventures... While my posts tend to have larger gaps of time in-between these days, I still like the occasional "photo-dump" so that I can look back on where I've been. This is my very public diary i suppose...
